Terms and Conditions

1. General

1.1 These general terms and conditions apply to all trips, arrangements, and services offered by Kembe Safari.
1.2 By booking a trip with Kembe Safari, the customer agrees to these general terms and conditions.

2. Reservation and payment

2.1 A trip is confirmed as soon as the customer has placed the reservation and it has been confirmed in writing by Kembe Safari.
2.2 Approximately one month before departure, you will receive an invoice from us for the remaining amount. For last-minute bookings (within 30 days of departure), we kindly request that the full travel amount be paid immediately.
2.3 If payments are not made in a timely manner, Kembe Safari reserves the right to cancel the reservation. Any cancellation fees will be charged to the customer in that case.

3. Cancellations and changes

3.1 Cancellations must be communicated to us in writing. Because we often work with local partners, we unfortunately cannot always reverse incurred costs. Therefore, we apply the following cancellation terms:

  • Up to 60 days before departure: 30% of the travel amount

  • 30 to 59 days before departure: 50% of the travel amount

  • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the travel amount
We always recommend taking out good cancellation insurance.
3.2 Changes to the travel programme are possible on request and subject to availability. Any additional costs will be passed on to the customer.

4. Responsibility and liability

4.1 Kembe Safari does everything possible to carry out the trip according to the agreed programme.
4.2 Kembe Safari is not liable for damage, loss, or injury resulting from force majeure, such as natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, or cancellations by external service providers.
4.3 The customer is responsible for having a valid passport, necessary visas, vaccinations, and appropriate travel insurance.

5. Insurance

5.1 Taking out travel insurance and cancellation insurance is strongly recommended and is the responsibility of the customer.
5.2 Kembe Safari is not liable for costs arising from the lack of adequate insurance.

6. Health and safety

6.1 The customer must inform Kembe Safari in advance about any health issues or special requirements.
6.2 The customer is responsible for following health advice, such as vaccinations and the use of malaria prophylaxis.

7. Changes by Kembe Safari

7.1 Kembe Safari reserves the right to make changes to the travel programme in exceptional cases.
7.2 If this occurs, we will always offer an equivalent or better alternative, with minimal impact on your travel experience.

8. Complaints

8.1 If you are not satisfied with something during the trip, please let us know immediately via your guide or our local contact person. We will do our best to resolve it on the spot.
8.2 Complaints submitted afterwards can be filed in writing within 14 days after the end of the trip.

9. Applicable law

9.1 Dutch law applies to all agreements between Kembe Safari and the customer.
9.2 Disputes will only be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands.

10. Other provisions

10.1 The customer is responsible for their own luggage and personal belongings.
10.2 During our trips, photos and videos may be taken. These may be used by Kembe Safari for promotional purposes, unless the customer objects in writing beforehand.
