Our story
In 2018, we left with our family for Tanzania for an unforgettable safari and a stay in Zanzibar. What began as a special holiday grew into an experience that changed our lives. During our trip, we engaged in conversation with the local hotel staff and met Reginald Kembe, a dedicated employee of the Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp. He shared with us his dream: a large piece of land on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater that he wanted to use for agriculture. Unfortunately, this plan was hindered by a lack of water. His story deeply touched us, and we felt a strong urge to help.
A few years later, Marc returned to Tanzania to realise the first water borehole. This proved to be no easy task; after four attempts, we finally struck water. Thanks to this breakthrough, a remote village gained access to clean drinking water, a change that significantly improved the lives of many. But it didn't stop there. We took the next step: building a farm that would allow Reginald and the community to become self-sufficient and generate a sustainable income. This project is still in full development.
Since then, Marc has been travelling regularly to Tanzania and has provided countless people with an unforgettable experience, including taking them to the water project. Sem has delved into discovering the most beautiful accommodations and national parks, in order to tailor the ultimate journey for our customers. From this shared passion for Tanzania, its nature, and its people, Kembe Safari was born.
