Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all trips, packages and services offered by Kembe Safari.

1. General

1.1 These terms and conditions apply to all trips, packages and services offered by Kembe Safari.

1.2 By booking a trip with Kembe Safari, the customer agrees to these terms and conditions.

2. Booking and payment

2.1 A trip is confirmed once the customer has made the booking and Kembe Safari has confirmed it in writing.

2.2 Approximately one month before departure you will receive our invoice for the remaining amount. For last-minute bookings (within 30 days of departure) we kindly ask you to pay the full price of the trip immediately.

2.3 If payments are not made on time, Kembe Safari reserves the right to cancel the booking. Any cancellation charges will in that case be borne by the customer.

3. Cancellations and changes

3.1 Cancellations must be submitted to us in writing. As we largely work with local partners, we cannot always reverse costs already incurred. We therefore apply the following cancellation terms:

Up to 60 days before departure: 30% of the trip price

30 to 59 days before departure: 50% of the trip price

Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the trip price

We always recommend taking out good cancellation insurance.

3.2 Changes to the itinerary are possible on request and subject to availability. Any additional costs will be passed on to the customer.

4. Responsibility and liability

4.1 Kembe Safari does everything it can to deliver the trip in accordance with the agreed programme.

4.2 Kembe Safari is not liable for damage, loss or injury resulting from force majeure, such as natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics or cancellations by external service providers.

4.3 The customer is responsible for holding a valid passport, the necessary visas and vaccinations, and suitable travel insurance.

5. Insurance

5.1 Taking out travel insurance and cancellation insurance is strongly recommended and is the customer’s responsibility.

5.2 Kembe Safari is not liable for costs arising from the absence of adequate insurance.

6. Health and safety

6.1 The customer must inform Kembe Safari in advance of any health issues or special requirements.

6.2 The customer is responsible for following health advice, such as vaccinations and the use of malaria prophylaxis.

7. Changes by Kembe Safari

7.1 Kembe Safari reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary in exceptional circumstances.

7.2 Should this occur, we will always offer an equivalent or better alternative, with as little impact as possible on your experience of the trip.

8. Complaints

8.1 If you are unhappy about anything during the trip, please tell us straight away through your guide or our local contact. We will do our best to resolve it on the spot.

8.2 Complaints after the event can be submitted in writing within 14 days of the end of the trip.

9. Applicable law

9.1 All agreements between Kembe Safari and the customer are governed by Dutch law.

9.2 Disputes will be submitted exclusively to the competent court in the Netherlands.

10. Other provisions

10.1 The customer is responsible for their own luggage and personal belongings.

10.2 Photographs and videos may be taken during our trips. These may be used by Kembe Safari for promotional purposes, unless the customer objects in writing beforehand.
