Tarangire National Park

Land of the baobabs

Tarangire National Park is a much-loved gem in northern Tanzania, famous for its iconic baobab trees, large elephant herds and remarkable biodiversity.

During the dry season the Tarangire River draws thousands of animals, giraffes, lions and zebras among them, and the park becomes a spectacular sight.

With more than 550 bird species and richly varied landscapes, Tarangire is a paradise for nature lovers. Its quiet and exclusivity make it an ideal destination for an intimate safari experience.

A paradise for wildlife

The Tarangire river, which flows all year round, is the lifeline of the park. During the dry season, from June to October, thousands of animals move to the river, which makes Tarangire one of the best places in Tanzania to spot wildlife.

Large herds of elephants are the park’s signature sight; sometimes you see hundreds at once. Tarangire is also home to giraffes, buffalo, zebras, lions and leopards.
