This trip takes you to the best-known parks of northern Tanzania: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. A comprehensive safari experience with ample opportunity to spot wildlife and take in the breathtaking scenery.

From arrival in Arusha to the last souvenirs. This is what your twelve days look like.

Arrival in Arusha & Tarangire

Arrival & first game drives

Arrival in Arusha & Tarangire

Your adventure begins in Arusha, where your guide is waiting to take you to your lodge to rest. The next morning you travel to Tarangire National Park, famous for its huge elephant population and ancient baobab trees. On the game drives you may spot lions, leopards and herds of buffalo.

Lake Manyara National Park

Tree-climbing lions & flamingos

Lake Manyara National Park

Today you visit Lake Manyara, a relatively small but spectacular park. Here you have the chance to see the famous tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos. You take a game drive through the dense forest and along the lake shore, where you may also come across giraffes, hippos and baboons.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Big Five in the amphitheatre

Ngorongoro Crater

You travel on to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the best places to spot the Big Five. You descend into the crater for an extensive game drive through this natural amphitheatre teeming with wildlife. Between drives you enjoy a picnic with a beautiful view over the surroundings.

6–9

Serengeti National Park

Four full days

Serengeti National Park

The next four days are devoted entirely to the Serengeti. This iconic park offers endless grass plains where you can see countless wild animals:

Day 6

Arrival in the park and your first game drive across the vast plains.

Day 7–8

Two full days of safari, with a chance of hunting cheetahs, large herds of wildebeest and majestic elephants.

Day 9

Further into the park, to the quieter areas where you have the wildlife almost to yourself.

Into the highlands

Back to Karatu

After a final morning game drive in the Serengeti you return to Karatu, a welcoming village near the Ngorongoro highlands. Here you can relax at a characterful lodge, take a coffee tour or walk through the hills.

Arusha and departure

A gentle finish

Arusha and departure

The trip winds down gently with a final day in Arusha. Here you can buy some last souvenirs or relax at the lodge. After that you are taken to the airport for your flight home.
