The trip in brief
Wildlife first, then the sea
Twelve days in two acts. You start with a week of safari through the finest parks of northern Tanzania: elephants in Tarangire, the Big Five on the crater floor of Ngorongoro and the endless plains of the Serengeti. Then you fly from an airstrip in the middle of the Serengeti straight to Zanzibar, where five days of white sand and warm sea water await you.
Like every Kembe journey, this route is a starting point: longer on safari, an extra night in Stone Town or more beach days instead. We adapt everything to your wishes.

From arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport to the last sunset over the Indian Ocean. This is what your twelve days look like.

Arrival in Arusha
You land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, the gateway to many of Tanzania’s natural wonders. Our guide is waiting for you and takes you to your characterful hotel in Arusha, where you can relax and acclimatise for the rest of the day.

Elephants & baobabs
Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast your safari adventure begins in Tarangire, known for its impressive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. You take a game drive and a guided walking safari, experiencing nature and wildlife up close. In the evening you enjoy dinner overlooking the savannah.

The Big Five on the crater floor
Ngorongoro Crater
You travel on to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most spectacular natural areas in the world. On a game drive across the crater floor you stand a good chance of spotting the Big Five, surrounded by the extraordinary landscape of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Two days of endless plains
Serengeti National Park
Two days in iconic Serengeti National Park, famous for its endless grass plains and spectacular wildlife. Every day you take game drives with plenty of chances of the Big Five, from lions to leopards, and you experience magical sunsets under the African stars.

Arrival in the Serengeti and a first game drive across the savannah.
Day 6
A full day of safari with a picnic lunch in the middle of the park.

Onto the plane
From the Serengeti to Zanzibar
Today you leave the Serengeti and fly straight to paradisiacal Zanzibar. The flight offers a beautiful view over the savannah and the ocean. On arrival you are welcomed and taken to your beachside accommodation: time to switch from savannah to sea.

8–12

Tropical paradise
Relaxing on Zanzibar
For the last days you enjoy white sandy beaches and bright blue water. Do as much or as little as you like. After a week of savannah you have earned all the relaxation. On day 12 you are taken to the airport for your flight home.
