Safari: From Volcanic Lakes to the Iconic Serengeti

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and taken to a lodge in Arusha. Enjoy a relaxing evening to recover from the journey and prepare for your safari adventure.
Dag 2: Arusha National Park

The journey begins with a visit to Arusha National Park, which is famous for its impressive scenery, ranging from green forests to open savannah, and with views of the majestic Mount Meru. During a game drive through the park, you have the chance to see giraffes, buffalo, various species of monkeys, and an impressive variety of birds. In the afternoon, you will take a walk with a ranger, ideal for exploring the smaller wonders of nature. Overnight stay in a lodge in Arusha.
Day 3-4: Lake Natron – Surreal landscape and flamingos

You will travel to the remarkable Lake Natron, a breathtaking place with bright red waters and a huge population of flamingos. This alkaline lake is situated in a rugged landscape, surrounded by volcanoes and gorges. During your stay, you will explore the shores of the lake, admire the impressive Oldoinyo Lengai volcano, and visit the Engaresero waterfalls, where you can cool off in naturally flowing water. For a panoramic view of the area, you will hike to a nearby rock formation. The days at Lake Natron are all about adventure and natural beauty. Overnight stay in a lodge in the area.
Day 5: Lake Natron to Lake Eyasi

Today you will drive to Lake Eyasi, where you have the chance to meet the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. The Hadzabe are one of the last hunter-gatherer communities in Africa, and you can go hunting with them or learn about their traditional lifestyle. The Datoga tribe is known for their blacksmithing and artisanal skills. You will gain a fascinating insight into their culture and traditions. Overnight stay in a simple lodge or tent camp near Lake Eyasi.
Day 6: Exploring Lake Eyasi and meeting the Hadzabe and Datoga

The morning is focused on learning about the life of the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. This is a unique opportunity to find out more about their daily activities, including hunting, gathering, and tool-making. You can join a hunting expedition with the Hadzabe or observe the blacksmithing techniques of the Datoga. In the afternoon, you will drive to Karatu. Overnight stay in a lodge in Karatu.
Day 7: Karatu

After a calm morning in Karatu, you can take part in a coffee tour, where you will learn all about the local coffee production. In the afternoon, you can relax and enjoy the surroundings of Karatu or visit the local market. Overnight stay in Karatu.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater and Maasai

Today you will drive to the impressive Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, you have the opportunity to visit a Maasai community, where you can learn about their traditional way of life, their ceremonies, and their strong connection to the land. After the cultural experience, you will descend to the bottom of the crater, where you will make a game drive. The crater is known for its incredible concentration of wildlife, including the big five. Overnight at the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater with a beautiful view.
Day 9-10: Serengeti National Park

Today you will drive to the Serengeti, one of the most iconic national parks in the world. Over the course of two days, you will make game drives through the park and can see the famous migration of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, or you may witness predators in action. The Serengeti offers the perfect opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural environment, from the Big Five to rarer species. Overnight stay at a tent camp in the middle of the Serengeti for a real adventure.
Day 11-12: Serengeti National Park

The next two days are dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. You have the chance to explore the vast plains, where you can enjoy the iconic African animals in their natural habitat. The Serengeti is famous for its predators, so a game drive here is ideal for spotting lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Overnight stay in the Serengeti.
Day 13-14: Return to Arusha & Departure

After a final morning safari in the Serengeti, you bid farewell to the vast savanna and travel back to Arusha. Here, you can relax in your lodge, enjoy one last African sunset, and perhaps buy some souvenirs. The following morning, you have time to unwind before being taken to the airport for your return flight. You take home a wealth of unforgettable memories, from the impressive safaris to the enchanting landscapes and encounters with the local culture.
