Budget Safari: Culture and Wild Animals
This 8-day safari offers an affordable yet still fantastic safari experience, with the opportunity to visit Lake Eyasi to meet the Hadza and Datoga tribes, and three days in the Serengeti to spot wildlife.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be picked up by your guide and taken to a budget-friendly lodge in Arusha. This simple yet comfortable hotel is an ideal place to relax after your flight and prepare for the coming days.
Day 2-3: Lake Eyasi (2 days)
Lake Eyasi offers a unique cultural experience with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. The Hadzabe live as hunter-gatherers and the Datoga are skilled blacksmiths. During your stay, you will have the chance to witness their traditional way of life up close.
Day 2: Arrival at Lake Eyasi and introduction to the Hadzabe and Datoga. You can participate in their daily activities, such as hunting with the Hadzabe or seeing how the Datoga create weapons and jewelry.
Day 3: Morning walk or ride through the region to further explore the surroundings of Lake Eyasi. In the afternoon, depart for Karatu for an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Simple camping at Lake Eyasi or a budget-friendly lodge in Karatu.
Day 4: Tarangire National Park
Today you will drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its impressive baobab trees and large elephant population. You will take a game drive through the park, where you have the chance to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various bird species. The park is less busy than others, allowing you to enjoy nature in peace.
Accommodation: Camping or simple lodge in or near Tarangire.
Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and large populations of birds. The game drive through this park offers a great opportunity to spot various types of animals and birds, from flamingos along the lake to monkeys in the forests.
Accommodation: Budget campsite or lodge near Lake Manyara.
Day 6-8: Serengeti National Park (3 days)
Today you will drive to Serengeti National Park. You have three full days in this iconic park, where you can experience the rich wildlife. During the three days, you will take game drives to spot the wildlife of the Serengeti, including the Big Five, as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The Serengeti also offers the chance to see migrating animals, such as wildebeests and zebras, depending on the season.
• Day 6: Arrival in Serengeti and first game drive.
• Day 7: Full day game drive in the Serengeti, with a picnic lunch in the midst of nature.
• Day 8: Early departure for a final game drive in the Serengeti before returning to Arusha.
Accommodation: Camping in the Serengeti (budget-friendly) or a simple lodge outside the park. This option allows you to stay in the Serengeti without excessive costs for overnight stays.
Dag 8: Terug naar Arusha en vertrek
After the game drive in the Serengeti, you will drive back to Arusha for your flight home. You can stop along the way for souvenirs or simply relax and reminisce about your adventure.
